For instance, a site like LinkedIn could be helpful when you look for other professionals with a background similar to yours to see how they market themselves. That\u2019s not to say you should be copying and pasting from the web; but it\u2019s a great place to go as a guide.<\/p>\r\n

Tip #4: Take a look at past evaluations.<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

You can also look at your past performance evaluations as another source of inspiration when you\u2019re writing your resume. If you have copies of yours, look for your areas of strengths and positive comments from your past bosses. It will also help ensure you don\u2019t overlook any important areas in your background.<\/p>\r\n

Tip #5: Tailor your resume every time you apply.<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

Don\u2019t send the same resume to every job you\u2019re applying to. Instead, tailor and tweak it for each unique position. For one position, knowing a certain computer program could be critically important.
